DIVINE
HAND OR INVISIBLE HAND
Part
22, Phase 3 of a Series
Reagan Renaissance
December 9, 2004
While previewing some of the material before this series began, the Puplavas asked how and why the political content of the series was relevant to a financial website. I presented them many of the charts and graphs that you have seen and replied that I believe Jim Puplava is correct in believing there is a "Perfect Financial Storm1" in our future, but that the roots of the storm are neither economic nor financial in origin. The fundamental economic problems and mistakes actually have their origins in politics. I told them of my firm belief that it is socialism that has eroded our freedom and undermined the US economy because of socialism's compulsory participation and its destructive influence on savings, investment and compounding together with its corrosive promotion of over consumption.2 History tells us that democracies end in hyperinflation or bankruptcy whenever the public learns to vote themselves benefits from the treasury. If the roots of Jim's "Perfect Storm" are in fact grounded in socialism, then it follows that the US's survival of the coming storm will depend on ending socialism before the damage becomes irreversible. If socialism is to be ended before the unfunded liabilities of Medicare mature, then major political changes are going to have to occur quickly.
On a fateful day in July more than two hundred years ago, fifty-six men recognized a group of God-given unalienable rights in a document that severed our ties to one nation and gave birth to the freest nation in the history of man. No people have ever been more productive or more generous. Seventy-odd years ago, under the guise of generosity, power seeking politicians began imposing socialism during a desperate time in our nation's history. Ronald Reagan was the first to make a serious effort to reduce the damage and the threat posed by socialism. Newt Gingrich, Rush and others have each taken their turn in a so far less than successful attempt to slow or stem the tide of socialism. Now we are faced with an impending tidal wave of socialism that threatens to drown our nation under a sea of debt and unmanageable liabilities.3 The Reagan Renaissance forms a three pronged attack on socialism by combining the best of Ronald Reagan, a variation on Newt's strategy-the Contract with Congress and a voting block of conservative Americans who have not lost sight of the meaning of freedom or the meaning of independence and will put them under the direction and leadership of someone with the talent and skills best suited to turn the tide while there is still time. Armed with Reagan's principles, Newt's Contract strategy, the right leadership, and with your help, the Reagan Wing of the Republican Party is poised to become the most effective and powerful voting block in our nation's history.
This article is about how you, and maybe only you, can make the Reagan Wing and the Reagan Renaissance a reality. If you want your God-given unalienable rights back, the freedom guaranteed to you under the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, or if you recognize the inequities and dangers posed by socialism, then a successful launch of the Reagan Wing and the Reagan Renaissance should be your goal. Making the Reagan Wing a reality is the means by which you can preserve the American Dream for your children and grandchildren.
It is self-evident that grass roots conservative Americans will form the foundation of the Reagan Wing. The Reagan Wing will need the kind of leadership that can galvanize it into the most powerful and the most effective voting block in American history. It follows then that we need someone to lead this effort who can bring grass roots Americans on board in the largest possible numbers and cement their support for the Reagan Wing and the Reagan Renaissance. The Reagan Wing is going to need a significant spokesman, a leader that has the stature needed to sit down with Congressional leaders, Presidential candidates and Presidents. We will need a leader with the expertise to recruit, motivate and train our candidates We need someone who can easily attract the necessary funding.
There could be a number of suitable choices, but no one should ever underestimate the genus of Ronald Reagan: "Thanks Rush for all you're doing to promote Republican and conservative principles. Now that I've retired from active politics, I don't mind that you've become the number one voice for conservatism." President Reagan sent this to Rush in December of 1992, not long after it was clear just how bad the 1990 budget deal4 actually was and that it had cost his successor re-election. After President Bush's election loss, President Reagan is effectively acknowledging Rush as the leading conservative in America. Rush's role in the 1994 Republican Revolution was acknowledged when he was cited as the "Majority Maker" by Newt and the 1995 Republican Freshmen.
There are other reasons besides these two why Rush is not only the logical, but clearly the best choice to lead the Reagan Wing. Not being a politician himself, means that Rush as the leader of the Reagan Wing would never be a political threat to our candidates and conversely our candidates would not pose a threat to the Reagan Wing leader who has no political office seeking aspirations of his own. Rush's somewhat fanciful Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies (LIACS), could easily become a full-fledged reality forming a tailor-made fit for the recruiting and training arm for our Reagan Wing candidates. Assuming that he would be willing, Excellence in Golf (EIG), the Reagan Wing's equivalent to Star Wars, could become Rush's personal funding vehicle for LIACS. Just as Star Wars played an integral role in bringing down the Soviet Union, the same could be true for EIG and the "professional" politicians who undermined our freedom and our economy by imposing socialism on the American people.
If you recall in our last article, we said that votes are the first prerequisite of a voting block and that if one third of the people who voted for Bush were conservative, then the Reagan Wing could easily number 20 million voters. During the course of any given week, more than 20 million people regularly tune in to Rush. Most, but not all, are conservatives. Instinctively, these two groups are largely the same people, and in this case it is the people who can and should recruit the man to lead and galvanize the Reagan Wing into the most powerful voting block in US history.
Rush knows that he could not exploit his listening audience, something he has carefully avoided. I suspect however, that the converse is not necessarily true. Nobody, certainly not Rush, can or should be forced or coerced into doing something to which they are genuinely opposed. On the other hand, if someone offered you the gift of a very appealing tailor-made pair of gloves in your size, the temptation to try them on would be hard to resist. If Rush receives large numbers of requests from members of his audience, or enough requests from influential members of his audience, surely he would want to know more about the Reagan Renaissance's potential to restore our freedom by ending socialism? Rush knows the importance of recovering our lost freedoms and the importance of restoring the principles embodied in the Declaration and the Constitution. Rush recognizes the dangers posed by socialism to the economic well-being of the American people. There are no obvious reasons why Rush would turn down a request to lead the Reagan Renaissance effort. And why would Rush refuse freedom-seeking Americans or ask them to accept second best? Besides, Rush has his own freedom and economic well being at stake; why would he accept less than the best for himself?
Under Rush's tutelage, the Reagan Wing can quickly put the United States back on course to the Reagan Renaissance. And if the gloves are a divine fit, wouldn't it make sense to try on the gift offered by the Invisible Hand. For those who would like to know the rest of the story of how and why something as insignificant as golf could prove to be the catalyst that puts the United States back on the course laid out by Ronald Reagan to the renaissance, here is a link to the story of Excellence in Golf, the laser-guided equivalent of Star Wars for the Reagan Wing, itself the Death Star for socialism in the United States. Without socialism, is there any reason for the continued existence of the modern Democratic Party?
There is one final piece to the puzzle, funding the campaigns of LIACS's graduates, our Reagan Wing candidates who are going to replace the "professional" politicians that imposed socialism on the people of the United States. If the Reagan Wing's 20 million voters overlap Rush's more than 20 million listeners, could they be organized not only into the most powerful voting block in US history, but also into a political action committee? If each of those 20 million were willing to contribute $10 a year, the RLPAC (Reagan-Limbaugh Political Action Committee) would have $400 million to fund our Reagan Wing candidates in every election cycle. The Reagan Wing could dangle a very large carrot (20 million votes) and swing a very big stick (very well funded and very well trained candidates to lead the Great Debate).
Since the
article entitled the Great Debate, I have been telling you the purpose
of the series:
"This series is about finding, funding, and electing
Constitutional conservatives, and in particular about identifying and
electing another Ronald Reagan. This series is not about finding the
money. In truth, the money will seek out, find, and automatically flow
to the independent group of Constitutional conservatives willing to
serve in this capacity. This series is aimed at securing your help in
forming this group. Invite your family, friends or anyone that is
willing to spend a few seconds of their time over and above the time
that it will take them to decide that this effort is worth a few minutes
of their time. And it carries no financial or other risks of any kind.
No one will ask your identity. No one will ask anybody for money. The
most that will be asked of anyone, is to send one email and/or to make
one phone call."
The Reagan Renaissance is the legitimate future of the United States, not the future outlined by Gokhale-Smetters as mandated under current law. I have done all that I know to do. Now I am asking you to send one email and make one call, both to Rush. You know the number 1(800) 282-2882 If you are a successful caller, please give him the URL of this page: http://www.financialsense.com/fsu/editorials/renaissance/2004/1209.html Ask him to please read the series for himself. Most people will not be successful callers to Rush's show, but everyone who would like to make the Reagan Wing and the Reagan Renaissance a reality can send Rush an email. Please click the email hyperlink that follows for Rush's email. Then please copy and paste the text that follows into the pre-addressed email:

Rush, |
This Christmas, give your family the gift of freedom. Give them the Reagan Renaissance, which is now in your hands.
"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness." Ronald Reagan 1964

Author's
Note
There is no Constitutional authority
for socialism at the level of the federal government. Socialism is a
failed economic model because under socialism, all of the incentives are
backwards. Socialism is not compatible with capitalism because it
undermines savings and investment. Every democracy in history has ended
in bankruptcy or hyperinflation whenever the people learn to vote
themselves benefits from the public treasury. Our republic has become a
democracy by surrogates through "professional"
politicians because we do not have term limits. Socialism is the
economic equivalent of cancer. "Professional" politicians are
the cause and the sole means of spread. Either Americans are going to
voluntarily end socialism which would be the catalyst for launching the Reagan
Renaissance or socialism is going to bring down the United States
through bankruptcy or hyperinflation. Socialism needs to be ended
quickly before the unfunded liabilities of Medicare begin to mature for
the boomers. Democrats encourage the myth of "the
third rail of politics", but making participation in Social
Security voluntary is the first
step to the Renaissance. Every adult American should be allowed
to make a "once in a lifetime" choice to opt in or opt out of
Social Security under the Cato Plan. It is time to go
for the throat of the "professional" politicians before
it's too late.

The countdown continues...3...2...1...We have ignition. Leveraging the power of the internet will be a vital part of the rocket fuel needed to power our engines to overcome gravity and reach escape velocity. Please send your friends, family and people that you know that are conservative, or to anyone who wants to restore the Constitution's limits on government or to end socialism, this link to the Reagan Renaissance Archive. Please post links to the Reagan Renaissance Archive at internet forum groups, on internet bulletin boards, and internet newsgroups. If you have a contact with an influential person, please send them a link to this page and ask them to contact Rush in behalf of the Reagan Renaissance. How far and how wide you spread the word about the Reagan Renaissance will be a major determinate for its success.
Besides the Pilgrims giving thanks to God, the first Thanksgiving was actually a celebration of the triumph of capitalism over socialism. The gathering dark clouds of socialism once again threaten a coming storm. The Reagan Wing's challenge is to teach the lessons learned by the Pilgrims to the Americans who are now repeating the mistakes of the past, hence the Great Debate.
I would like to express my personal thanks to each and every reader. May your Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays this year be your best ever, and merely a prelude of those to come in the Renaissance ahead. Words can not express my gratitude to Financial Sense Online and the Puplavas for allowing me the opportunity to make these views publicly available. And may the Divine Hand of Providence continue to watch over and guide the people of the United States.
