Michael J. Economides is one of the most instantly recognizable names in the energy industry.
He is a professor at the Cullen College of Engineering, University of
Houston, and has also served in the faculty of other major universities
in both the United States and Europe. Professor Economides has written
or co-written nearly 200 journal papers and articles and 11 textbooks
and professional books, including The Color of Oil. As an
industrial consultant, he has been retained by national oil companies at
the country level and by Fortune 500 companies. Professor Economides has
served in a professional capacity in more than 70 countries, working in
senior technical and managerial positions in the petroleum services
industry.
